Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

House Plant Assistant is made by Alice J. William. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: it stays on your phone.

What the app stores

The app saves the following on your device only:

• The windows you add: name, room, direction, obstruction level and notes
• Your approximate latitude and chosen hemisphere, used to estimate sunlight through the seasons

This information is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. If you delete the app, it is deleted.

Location

If you allow it, the app reads your device's compass to detect which way a window faces, and your approximate location to work out your latitude. Only the latitude is kept, and only on your device. You can decline location access and still use the app by choosing your hemisphere and window directions by hand.

What we do not do

• We do not collect, sell or share personal information
• We do not use advertising or analytics tools
• We do not require an account
• We do not track you across other apps or websites

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and page requests, for security and reliability. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply to you.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
